About Karhandla JUNGLE

Umred-Pauni-Karhandla Natural life Safe-haven, around 50 km from Nagpur and 60 km from Bhandara, is spread over Pauni Tahsil of Bhandara locale and Umred, Kuhi and Bhivapur Taluka of Nagpur district.[2] This asylum has an association with Tadoba Andhari Tiger Save through the woodland along Wainganga waterway. The safe-haven is home to inhabitant rearing tigers, crowds of Gaur, wild canines and intriguing creatures like flying squirrels, pangolins and honey badgers.

Karhandla wildlife Sanctuary become very famous when the Country famous tiger Jai was alive.

It is limited generally by the Wainganga stream and the Gose Khurd Dam on the upper east, Public Expressway 9 and Bhiwapur Town on the south, Umred on the west and a thin 10 km long scope of 600 - 800 m slopes toward the northwest. It is found 40 km north of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Hold and 50 km southwest of Nagzira Natural life Asylum and 60 km from Nagpur, Maharashtra. Pench Tiger Hold is 80 km toward the northwest

The quantity of sightseers is expanding in light of the fact that it is exceptionally near the Umred and Nagpur city. Tigers are usually seen here by numerous towns around the sanctuary.

The sanctuary provides connectivity between key tiger reserves like Tadoba, Pench, Bor and Nagzira. It thus also serves to reduce pressure of tourists and tourist-related activities from those protected areas because they are more eco-sensitive.

Several water management programs have been created by the tiger protection NGO Wildlife Trust of India (WTI).

About 100 km of motorable road have been developed, out of which tourists are allowed on 44 km. The road can handle about 40 vehicles - 20 in the morning and 20 in the evening.

The Forest Department has trained about 20 villagers from the nearby and surrounding areas as guides which provides them employment.

The main entrance of the sanctuary is at Karhandla village.

Story

Karhandla Farm and Resort is a fantasy and testing venture of Mr. Tarique Hafeez. It began in 2012 and took 6 years to complete. The property is functional from 2018 and has been serving the great times in the nature for the past 5+ years. We have 100+ sections of land and have made normal living space for untamed life, birds, settling, green ranch, making field and water sources like lakes and ponds. We have room categories like Luxury villa, Premium Cottages, a Huge Big boss House and a Sarpanch House, Hunting Tent and Maharaja Tent and Luxury cottages Rooms. Gosekhud dam

The Gosekhurd Reservoir is an earthfill dam on the Wainganga River near Pauni in Bhandara district, Maharashtra, India. It has 33 spillway gates and a volume of 3.83106 m3 and a gross water storage capacity of 1,146106 m3. Its purpose is irrigation and hydropower generation, as well as drinking water systems for the nearby Municipal Council and Grampanchayat. Construction was delayed due to Rehabilitation problems, but the reservoir was filled to 100% capacity in Jan 2022.
